Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026.
This page explains in plain terms what data this site processes, why, where it goes and how to exercise your rights. As long as you do not use the contact form, the site asks nothing from you.
Who is responsible
Jérôme W., self-employed (sole proprietorship), Lausanne area (Switzerland). The only way to contact me is the form on the home page; I do not publish a postal address, an e-mail address or a phone number.
When you browse the site
The site is static: there is no account and no database of visitors. To display the pages, Cloudflare, which hosts the site, technically receives each request (IP address, requested page, browser type). The site itself records none of this.
When you use the contact form
The following data is processed:
- your name or nickname (required);
- a reply address (optional), used only to answer you;
- your message;
- the language of the page, and the date and time of sending;
- the country, deduced from your IP address by Cloudflare (the IP address itself is not added to the message).
The anti-spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile)
To tell a human from a robot, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. When you get close to the form, your browser loads a Cloudflare script, which receives your IP address and signals from your browser. If a tick box is needed, the form tells you.
To limit repeated submissions, Cloudflare also counts submissions per IP address. This counter is kept by Cloudflare; the site does not keep it.
Where your message goes
Your message is sent by e-mail to my inbox, through Cloudflare’s e-mail sending service. It is not kept on the site: no database, and no copy of the content in the logs.
In my inbox, with my e-mail provider, it stays as long as needed to answer you and follow up on the exchange, then it is deleted, at the latest twelve months after the last exchange, unless the law requires keeping it longer.
Audience measurement
The site may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookie-free audience measurement that does not follow visitors from one page to another. It is only active if I have turned it on. When it is, your browser sends visit information (page, browser type, country) to Cloudflare.
Cookies and trackers
This site does not set any cookie itself. It uses no advertising tracker, no analytics tool other than the one described above and no social network button. Fonts and images are served by the site itself.
Cloudflare Turnstile and Cloudflare Web Analytics are Cloudflare services, subject to Cloudflare’s own rules.
Why this data is processed
- to answer your message;
- to protect the form against abuse (robots, mass submissions);
- to measure traffic to the site in aggregate, if audience measurement is on.
I do not use your data for anything else, and I do not sell it or give it to third parties for commercial purposes.
Who receives the data
Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, anti-spam check, e-mail sending, audience measurement if any) and my e-mail provider. There is no other recipient.
Transfers outside Switzerland
Cloudflare is a US company and processes data in data centres around the world, including in the United States, where the level of data protection may differ from that of Switzerland. If you do not want your data to leave Switzerland, do not use the form.
How long data is kept
- On the site: not at all, nothing is stored there.
- In my inbox: see “Where your message goes”.
- At Cloudflare: according to its own retention policy.
Your rights
You can ask what data I hold about you, have it corrected or have it deleted. Write to me through the form, stating your request and a reply address for the answer; I may ask you to prove your identity.
You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Changes
This page describes how the site works today. If the site changes (for example with a new tool), I update it and the date at the top changes. General information about the site is in the legal notice.
